Shuttle Moves Through LA
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nati...icle-1.1182263
Very surprised this is the first post on this subject!! And no pictures from any of our world spanning reporters. If this was NY we'd have two pages already. Heck I remember when they moved the Tomcat from Republic to Bethpage and Moose and Fred were virtually part of the escort!!
Guess I'm spoiled from our excellent local coverage

I can't wait for the Discovery Channel special on this???

I agree. Even Saturday's NY Daily News featured a photo and article about the Endeavour enroute to the CSM from LAX. I gues that's why it's called NYC Aviation but I was also expecting better coverage. The LA Times site features amazing videos showing the wing tip brushing against trees causing the entourage to stop briefly. This brings back memories when the Concorde was barged under the IND bridge to Rockaway and narrowly missed hitting some pilings. Incidentally, the move through the streets of LA, according to LA Times articles, cost around $10 million, mostly paid for by donations. Most surprising of all, the Museum plans to exhibit the Endeavour in the VERTICAL position, as in lift-off! I can't recall any other vehicle displayed vertically. Amazing!
