KALB 6/19/2011

Was up in Schenectady for the weekend visiting family and my hotel was less than a mile from KALB. How could I pass up an opportunity to squeeze in some spotting. I decided to sneak out at sunrise to get some (and by some I mean very few), as traffic is very slow at KALB. THey were using Runway 1 so I set up at Spot "B" from the spotters guide on the site. I only wish I had had a ladder to be able to see over the fence.

Nice shots! I had a thought of heading out there Sunday. I haven't been out in the early morning on weekends in quite a while. Apparently, sleep was more important. Nice to see that you had some nice light.

I've never tried a ladder, although I think that the bed of a large pickup would be enough to see over some parts. I resort to shooting through the fence. It seems to work okay with the 70-200 f/4.

Thanks guys! It may be a small airport that isn't very busy, but I would really like to get back up there and get some more photos. Maybe try some different angles, assuming the traffic pattern would allow for it.
