Looks like there will be one final opportunity to catch a Mexicana flight at JFK. MX 860 is inbound from CUN. http://flightaware.com/live/flight/M...245Z/MMUN/KJFK The return to CUN, MXA 861 has been departing around 9 am according to flightaware, that is if the plane does depart. Such a shame for an airline with an 89 year history. Hope they will be able to fly again.
Well I dont thinkthats going to happen. Wells Fargo is already looking for Buyers.
Hmm. I was wondering why i didnt see any mexicana blue falcons today. Now I know. Also I guess you can use this as a confirm that they didnt fly. I didnt like the A/C but I did like their new falcon scheme. 89 years. Never knew that. Well glad I decided to pop in today.
Wasn't Mexicana a relatively recent addition to JFK? I never saw any Blue Falcons in the 80's and 90's. When did they start service to JFK?
Mexicana has been comming to JFK for at least since the 80's first with the gold DC-10's and 727'sthen the multi colored tails on the DC-10's and A-320s
Don't forget the 757's they used to bring to JFK< as well. Old reliable RR powered 757's.
Continental is now offering stranded Mexicana passengers stand-by seats for $100...not bad: http://www.continental.com/web/en-US...ID=SOC?IAT=Twi
American is adding flights to MEX from DFW and MIA to make up for the lost Mexicana flights.
A rather sad picture from MEX:
