Boeing plant tour help ................
Hi
I want to take my family to the Boeing plant some day and visit, well, whatever Boeing lets you see. There is the plant tour, museum and a place to spot too- I think.
Would love for your input here guys:
Best / least rain season?
Where to stay?
And most important- how to get into the plant tour. ( I've heard no cameras alowed- thats OK by me- I want to see it anyhow)
Thanks

Mike go in Jul/August for sure. If you recall I spent a year straight in Vancouver and can say from June to Sept the weather was top notch. July was amazing, the sun didn't go down until 11 (maybe earlier down in Seattle) but the weather was perfect. A trip to Vancouver is def worth it as well. As for places to stay...I'm a Hilton slut so if you choose a Hilton owned property let me know, I'll tell you if its any good or not.
Re: Boeing plant tour help ................
I'd say late July - early Sept. The days are the longest around mid-June and the you can still see blue all the way till 10:30 or so at night...sometimes longer. There is a hotel right by the Future of Flight you could stay at, otherwise if you have a rental car there's the normal range of hotels in downtown Seattle or further north in Everett. The tour is based out of the Future of Flight museum...cost is about $15 for an adult. Camera's are allowed in the museum, but no camera's, cell phones, anything electronic on the tour. Lockers are available for rental.
Re: Boeing plant tour help ................
You basically got hte crux of it. if going iwth the kids, go for a week and spend an entire day doing Boeing and plane spotting. Been there twice in July and August and loved it, perfect weather.
And the hotel mentioned above was perfect.
But I highly recommend a week as there is a lot to do up that way! If you can, also consider a trip to the San Juan Islands. (You can do an overnighter or daytrip and fly via seaplane.

Thanks all!
With the tour do you need to make a reservation a head of time, and if so how much?

Mike I didn't make it ahead of time, walked in picked a 2 pm tour and that was that. I was alone so it didn't matter to me but since you are going on vacation with family you may want to ahead of time so you ensure you get to go on the tour. Best be safe.

No reservation is needed, but if you want a certain time for sure I recommend showing up at least 30 minutes in advance.
