The Queens Museum of Art isn't the only place you can see a miniature New York. Using tilt-shift photography, artist Sam O'Hare created the time-lapse film "The Sandpit" from more than 35,000 pictures taken during a single week last August. With computer editing software, O'Hare manipulated his photos so only narrow planes of focus remained sharp, creating an effect that makes the city look like a model. He then assembled his shots—which range from scenes of crowds entering the Met to construction work at Brooklyn Bridge Park—over an original score.
