Next Stop: Turkey and Cairo!
So I've told some people (but not all) that for our MBA program, we are required to do a "mid-semester module". Some of these modules are travel modules where you go to another country and study business in that country for 10 days. Well, since my program is compressed into one year and we need global credits to graduate, it became sort of "mandatory study abroad". As such, one week from today, I'll be flying to Istanbul and onward!
The itinerary looks like so:
ATL-CDG (DL B767-300ER)
CDG-IST (AF A319)
IST-ADB (TK B737-800)
ADB-ESB (TK B737-400)
ESB-IST (TK A321)
IST-CAI (SU B737-800)
CAI-JFK (DL B767-300ER)
JFK-ATL (DL MD-88)
We'll be spending 10 days in Turkey flying between the three major cities of Istanbul, Izmir, and Ankara, and then after the academic portion of our trip is over, we will be flying to Cairo for 5 days to see the pyramids and tour around. This is definitely a trip I thought I would never be able to take in my lifetime, and to be able to do it with a big group of close friends just makes it all the more exciting. So I'll be away for a while starting next week, but I'll be back around mid-March.
This trip has a few aviation firsts for me too - first trips on Turkish Airlines and EgyptAir, first time on a 737-400 (look out for major videos from this trip!). Oh, and I forgot to mention that I am flying BizElite in both directions for the first time across the pond - SWEETNESS!
Re: Next Stop: Turkey and Cairo!
I think you will really enjoy Turkey. It is definitely one of the most gorgeous countries I have visited, with the best cuisine, and friendliest people.
Have a great trip!
