New Scandinavian low-cost airline to NYC in 2010
Just found this on a Swedish newsite. Low-cost airliner Feel Air will start flying to New York ( JFK ) in the spring of 2010. They will be operating 2 A330-200. I find this really interesting, since i'm in the planing stage of a trip to New York this summer, and if they only will be charging half the price of what other airliners tickets cost, it will definitely be great deal for the Swedes and Norweigians. And of course.. The spotters at NYCA, who will get a new airliner to add to their library.
Read moore about it on http://www.feelair.com/

Well, the planes are certainly pretty. Let's hope this actually happens. There are quite a few A330-200s floating around at the moment coming off of lease so it seems plausible.

This sounds like one of those airline that I'll believe when I see it on approach.

Sorry Phil, Don't know what crossed my mind!
Re: New Scandinavian low-cost airline to NYC in 2010
Who knows - the combination of a Nordic-based ULCC operating routes to two widely known currency-haven destinations for Nordic exchange (value-driven Scandinavians lavishing in NY and BKK) - could be a viable pitch among the Nordic long-haul market (and vice-versa with us New Yorkers pinching dollars to explore Sverige & neighbors  )
Re: New Scandinavian low-cost airline to NYC in 2010
In a move Im sure the founders of Feelair are probably severely displeased about looks Norwegian has decided to enter the long haul market and is looking to acquire initially 4 763's or 332's with a plan for 15 total widebodies. First proposed routes are OSL-JFK and OSL-BKK. Either way should be something new for us to spot at JFK, perhaps we will get both!
