Motorist with 16 guns, ammo stopped at airport

LOS ANGELES - A motorist with more than a dozen guns — two of them loaded — and nearly 1,000 rounds of ammunition in his pickup truck was arrested at a vehicle checkpoint as he entered Los Angeles International Airport, authorities said.

So what happens with this guy. It does sound like an honest mistake, and if he's legally allowed to carry the weapons and wasn't entering any of the airport facilities, are they realyl going to throw the book at him?

Probably not, if they run all the guns and they come back clean and registered to him.
The two loaded guns will probably get him in trouble depending on what license he has and the laws of the state.
There are several arrests a week at airports for persons who declare weapons but don't have NY State permits. There are strict rules about transport of weapons.
