Eventful Day in Central Florida

On my way to the Kennedy Space Center to catch the launch of Space Shuttle Discovery, I stopped by MCO for some quick photos. I got really lucky to catch 'Air Tranica', the 717 with the Danica Patrick logo. Then I caught a KC-135, a plane that I have never previously photographed in flight.

Then, Discovery launched right on time, and it was spectacular. The noise is awesome! The media spot is about three miles from the launch pad, and the haze didn't make for the best photo conditions, but it was still great to be there.

Yeah, Steve, the haze really ruins that shuttle shot - NOT! Outstanding photo! I'd love to get down there to see another launch before they retire the fleet.

Great shots Steve! So that is where Tranica was - Tommy and I were looking at each 717 at FLL - wondering if it was coming in there...

I saw the shuttle launch from the beach! It was a great sight, and unexpected as I had completely forgotten about it!

That must have been an amazing experience, Ive always wanted to see a shuttle launch
