United Airlines said Monday it signed a codesharing agreement with India's Jet Airways.
Under the accord, passengers of either airline can accrue frequent flier miles offered by their carrier when they fly on routes served by the other codeshare partner.
United doesn't currently serve the India market, but it announced earlier this month that it intends to begin service this autumn to the Middle East emirate of Dubai, a major connecting hub for flights from the United States to East Asia.

Hmmm I wonder if that will include flights out of JFK? As we know Jet uses T8 which would mean UAL customers would be served by AA staff.

I'm glad you posted this as I've always wanted a bit of clarification.
Isn't Jet Airways associated with AAdvantage? If so, why would they want to codeshare with a direct competitor?

Yes they do have a codeshare with AA, that's why I wondered if UAL would code share with Jet our of JFK.

More details...the codesharing will only be via London to UA hubs, i.e. BOM-LHR on Jet, then LHR-ORD on UA. You'll also be able to book about 20 secondary UA cities from their hubs.
