PBG spotting review 5/6/08
Greetings,
I went to PBG to get a shot of the P&W Boeing 720 (C-FETB) that flew in from CYHU. This is the sister ship of N720PW that I shot in 2005. Unfortunately it had already been pulled into the hanger for maintenance by the time I got there.
The trip wasn't a total loss as I finally found out what happned to N720PW. It has now been completely stripped bare of all useful parts and is ready to be scrapped. Some of you might remember I shot this aircraft and put it on the map and show that it actually existed after all the sightings over the years. It is still my most valued aircraft I have ever shot. I also finally got a shot of an Airnow EMB-110. It had taken me nine years to get a shot as I missed it back in 1999 at MDW. The P&W 747SP N747UT that I had shot before was also flying around when I arrived at PBG. The other aircraft were the same stuff I saw 3 years ago.

I wonder if that's the P&W geared turbofan on the SP.

The EM 110 better move it's parked by a fire hydrant...

GothamSpotter,
I do recall hearing that that is what it is. I could be wrong though.
Heres a different angle from a previous trip. Might be easier to tell.

I don't think the geared turbofan has been put to flight yet. Last I read very recently it just completed something like 200 hours of ground tests.

Senga,
Do you want me to comment on these pictures again? :D Just kidding. Love that 747SP!

Tommy,
Oh ok, That would make sense. The plane was doing gear testing this time when I saw it this time around.

Sure comment away :)

They are supposed to test it on the SP this summer, thought maybe they got an early start, but looking at the older pics it looks like that's the same engine that's been on there.

GothamSpotter,
Yes I came accross your thread about that very topic the other day. They have ahd this particular engine on the SP for several years now.
