P&W To Test Geared Turbo Fan Engines on 747SP @ Plattsburgh

A few days after announcing they would begin testing a geared turbo fan engine aboard an Airbus A340-600 later this year, Pratt & Whitney has told Flight Global they will first test them on a Boeing 747SP out of Plattsburgh, New York in July.
