It's normal for Lions to eat Hippos, no?
Although this lion was very slow, and seemed to be intent on trying to eat the guy before he was dead.
It happens, but, it is not common, Hippos spend a lot of their time in water....Quote:

Those lions are transients. Males looking for a pride to take over. They're probably starving because they don't belong to a pride where three or more lionesses conduct hunts with better results. I have seen video of a pride attacking full grown elephants.
