JFK to Receive New Ground Radar System
Three new receivers will be installed near the Howard Beach subway/Airtrain station which will give controllers a better view of the action on runways and taxiways to help prevent ground collisions. The new ASDE-X system combines data from radar and transponders to determine positions of vehicles driving around the airport as well as aircraft up to five miles away.

Good idea, but why would they go out of their way to say it will near the AirTrain in HoBe? Are they trying to make it a target or something?
Re: JFK to Receive New Ground Radar System
The local papers are all about NIMBYism. If they haven't already, I'm sure area residents will flip out over this, demand hearings/investigations/closing of the airport/hangings, claiming the radio waves will make their kids retarded.

...and yet the ASDE-X software still won't work. Funny how it all works out (lose-lose for all).
