Pics of the Old T1 at JFK
Just curious if anyone has or knows where I can find a pic of the old Eastern terminal (T1) before it was demolished to build the current T1. I can find pictures of the construction site from the mid-90's, but I can't seem to find any pictures of the actual facility. Thanks!

It's tough to find pics. There's a few from the 1960s floating around in some books. I too have been looking for T1 pics circa early 1990s.

Wow ! What memories. I worked in that terminal from 74 to 89 along with hangar 9. First shot behind the Electra, silver door were the stairs down to my old cave the stockroom. All that time never thought to take any pictures. It was a beautiful old building with enough red italian marble to build a cathedral. Was way outdated facility wise by the 1011 time. Thanks for turning back the clock.

How many gates did the old T1 have during the 1980s?
Re: Pics of the Old T1 at JFK
Can't remember for sure how many gates. Highest numbered gate was 16. Stockroom was under 14. Don't recall how many were in active use.
