Heads up if anyone wants to brave the weather to get a shhot of a QF747-400 parked at T9 instead of T7. Aircraft is being brought into gate 47 right now due MX issues and no available gates at T7 or T4. I'm thinking QF108, but will confirm if I can. I'll head down to get a shot with my handheld and post it later.
I believe QF107 was operated by Wunala Dreaming today so that ads to the occasion!
From what you mentioned can I gather that the aircraft had mx issues and had a delayed departure and gates were needed at Terminal 7 so they towed her over to Terminal 9 for the delayed departure?
Looks like departure is set for 12:15AM
I did a 2 on it and it shows it returned to field, so it looks like mechanical diversion back to JFK. I saw a BA bird leave the gate at T7 and QF make the turn into 7, but we haven't been told by QF that we can quit holding a gate for them. I think they went into 7 after all, but we are still on standby. I'll post again when I know more.
I am being told now QF went to T4 after all. Oh well.
