JFK - 11/24/07 (Lotta Pix)

Headed out to JFK for some spotting today. Was trying to meet up with someone from A.net in town for the holiday, but it never worked out. Since 31 was active, I started at Howard Beach for some departure action. A little while after I got there, I saw a guy out with a DSLR and a big lens on a tripod, shooting departures also. I walked over and introduced myself. Turns out he's from Islip and shoots aviation for a living - lots of private clients photographing airliners and biz jets, as well as work for Aviation Week and other publications. We spent about 3 hours out there shooting, and discussing a wide range of topics including the current aviation security climate and the different philosophies of shooting for clients, magazines, and the popular upload sites. All in all, an interesting way to spend a chilly afternoon. We had a visit from US Park Police, who checked our ID - I've included a report in the Spotter Blotter forum. By the way - 600mm lens on a crop body is too long for 747 departures from HoBe :)

Diggin' the two 757 with winglets. Great shots man. Didn't come across any Delta 73Hs eh? N3744F can't seem to get enough of JFK. It's always passing through there these days.

I flew via ZRH and was on board HB-IQC.

Great job Mooses. I was planning to go to Hobe but the high clouds changed my mind.
