What does this entail? What time?
What they do every year. Stage a plane, burn some junk to make it look good then have a bunch of vehicles with flashy lights run around for a while then pat each other on their backs telling each other how good a job they have done.
Probably about a 9AM start, I won't be there because I have a wedding. If you see a yacht in flushing bay with a Harbor Unit sign, that is us (a little joke I am hoping to play). :borat:
i wanted to go to this, even made sure i had the morning off. at the last mine i was slammed with three things to do.
An NYPD chopper (a big Bell, don't see them often anymore) and a PAPD chopper have been circling west of LGA for at least the past hour, I'm guessing they are part of the drill.
BTW the location for this is same as Kids Day, not sure which carrier was providing an aircraft, probably AA !
LGA777
I beleive that would be 412PD and the S76 up there as part of the drill. they fly that area alot though.
the S-76 was N116PD, one sweet helo. i missed the drill this year, did in years past with FDNY. anyboy there today? how'd it go? i saw the remnants of it as i was driving in today. FDNY command post was still there on E ramp, along with about 9 or 10 busses in the staging area outside the PA Ops garage. NYPD had a pretty large presence just outside the airport too.

You mean PDs 412? They have 3 of them and are around all the time. LOL, I thought maybe they resurrected
the UH-1s they used to fly. THOSE were sweet. http://www.helispot.com/photo/03314

My bad. I always see the Agustas these days, I thought they might have retired almost all of the Bells.Quote:
