Just watch on NASA.GOV the shuttle is down and safe
Got to watch on CNN over on the Editorial side. They had some great views I haven't seen before, including a pilot's view out the windscreen showing the HUD :!:
Glad to see they returned safe and sound.
I saw that HUD camera shot on the last landing at Kennedy Space Center - it's an awesome view!
Is there a link to it somewhere?
There was also this other video I saw a couple years ago....the camera was on the belly of the shuttle as it took off.....probably the most amazing footage of anything I've ever seen.
My brother and I were cruising channels and went past MSNBC and CNN at the exact moment the shuttle passed over the numbers and went right back to watch it land.
I think that camera is on the external tank. I've seen it several times now. I think they started using it when they returned to flight following the Columbia crash - it's intended to allow engineers to look for any ice/foam pieces that might hit the orbiter, but it makes for an incredible view of the launch!Quote:

Very glad that they made it home okay, that "hole" in the tile really had me concerned.
