They actually have a monument in the mall commemorating Lindbergh's flight.
Is that photo of the atcual one, or a remake?
I've seen it....it stands in-front of a parking garage..I rest my case Moose.Quote:

This is the replica, which is at the Cradle of Aviation Museum. The replica was used to film the Jimmy Stewart movie in 1957:

Back in 1977, to mark the 50th anniversary of Lindbergh's flight, I attended a ceremony at Eisenhower Park, where a number of vintage aircraft, including this replica (if I remember correctly), flew over.
I've seen that one in DC....wasn't sure if it was rthe real one. Not sure why I doubted it.
Thanks for posting this Moose.
BTW- I guess all here has at least seen the movie...excellent!

Thanks for the posting, truly a special day in aviation.
Wow, amazing to think it was 80 years ago. ANd sadly, yes, as Tom said, I didn't even know there was a monument in front of the parking garage.
Something of that significance should have been placed at the mall entrance or even inside.
Unless they moved it, or there is a second one, the one I remember seeing was inside the mall. First floor, near Macys, I think.Quote:
