Closest thing to the 2707 - visually - would've been the Air Force bomber Valkyrie (sp?), which actually flew. I believe 4 were built and one is at The Air Force Museum in Dayton. (& under the floor of that hangar is where the the aliens from Roswell were put in refrigerators.. j/k)
Another interesting thing is the 2707 would've made supersonic transport more affordable.

I thought only 2 Valkyries were made. Saw avideo of that in flight. Now that is one wicked animal I would have loved to see.
That's right - only 2 B-70s were built. One was destroyed in a crash following a mid-air collision. The other is at the AF Musuem at Wright-Patt.
Man, such an awesome plane! Too bad it didn't make it!
