well the Varig 777 at the american airlines hangar now has engines in it.. and has been in and out of the hangar, the past 2 days.. today coming in i saw it hooked up the their Towbarless Tractor.. i don't know any further information about it.. but expect it to finally leave JFK sometime soon!!!!
I believe she is scheduled for a D-Check around this time.
As of 13:00 on 5 Jan, it's back in the hangar. I hope somebody can find out more information on when its leaving. I would love to get a shot of that.
I spoke to one of the employees and was told that the 777 will be in the hangar for some time. He stated that sitting outside for so long has really taken its toll. He mentioned recertifying the aircraft as airworthy.
It appears that the registration has been changed back to the original registration when United owned this bird.

Apparently she left to AFW this morning as N207UA.
