AA lowers booking bonus.
Effective Dec 15th, 2006...
A round trip ticket in economy after booking at AA.com now earns you 250 miles instead of 500.
A round trip ticket in First/Business after booking at AA.com now earns you 500 miles instead of 1,000.
This is a real shame but oh well.

A real shame? Could be worse.

It is a shame, i guess the way I speak I add real to everything haha
It certainly isn't a disaster, but i admit the booking bonus was one of the reasons I booked at AA.com over the other airlines, now the other airlines offer more booking bonus plus with what I get for flying SWA, AA is less appealing to me.
In fact im planning to use up my AA miles and get away for a weekend on it, I just don't see the appeal in flying AA anymore these days.

They doing it because they've trained everyone now to book on AA.com so why reward ppl anymore. Typical BS and not customer service friendly at all.

Right. Like WN hasn't done the same in the past
Any company in their right mind is going to use a tactic to reel you in and then switch back to the norm.
