DL to start flights from JFK to WAW and OTP

Following recent reports, DL will announce two new routes out of JFK on Thursday's conference JFKWAWJFK and JFKOTP(Bucharest)JFK.

There's also a rumor that WAW will also be served from ATL along with PRG, VIE, DXB and ICN.

From a passengers standpoint this will finally end the monopoly of LOT on flights to/out of NYC area.

Interesting--I've heard of ATL-DXB/ICN to no end, but PRG and VIE could be interesting. PRG and VIE would be long flights for the 763.

I'm disappointed with DL, why they decided to skip WAW, I have no idea. From what I know, DL had everything set up on the line of DOT and PPL (Polish airport administration). :( WAW was once again left out, darn.

New confirmed routes out of JFK:

New York-JFK-Pisa/Florence, Italy (effective May 31, 2007)
New York-JFK-Bucharest, Romania (effective June 5, 2007).
New York-JFK-Shannon, Ireland (nonstop service replacing existing one-stop flights via Dublin, effective June 2, 2007)
