Have they decided where their home base will be? The last I heard it was going to be SFO. I really don't see the need for another LCC in the U.S. How much capacity and yield do they expect to generate? No way will they go up against WN with their first salvo, they'll get destroyed. United did well against Indy and look where Indy is now.
Yeah get some competition for Jet Blue! Hey they better hire American Pilots . . .None of that JAA stuff!
BTW doesn't it seem like VA is taking over each continent, slowly, but , surely? :?: :?
From what I have heard, they will have both corporate and operational bases at SFO. The first route I hear will be JFK to SFO.
I had thought that they might bid for Independence Air's assets but now rumor has it that Mesa is trying to take them again. God help them if Ornstein gets his hands on them.
Anyway--my best to you all....

Believe or not Virgin corp doesn't own the majority of some of the Virgin named airlines. An example is Virgin Nigeria, Branson doesn't have a controlling share in that airline. Often times he'll start a business and then sell his controlling shares to another company or investor. Its a great way to raise huge amounts of cash.Quote:

per FAA rules he can't own more the 49% of Virgin America

Virgin America has the following statement posted on their site:
We are NOT currently taking resumes for Pilots or Flight Attendants but will be shortly and would love to hear from you!
Please do not submit your resume just yet but continue to check back with us for the official posting.
Thank you for your interest in Virgin America.
Apparently their SoHo headquarters has moved to Burlingame, CA, near SFO. :(
Here is their first aircraft being accepted by them in TLS this past week.
No one would tell me why it is not painted.
