I missed Kids Day last year because I thought it was open only to folks bringing along kids. Can single adults enter? When will it be held this year? Is it still open to all? Where do the folks enter? I'm sure there's a special place to gather. Are cameras permitted? With all the security measures now in place I can't believe that they still have Kids Day.

Kids Day is usually in mid to late September, and it's held near the Marine Air Terminal. There's a gate that they open which is where you go in.
Adults may enter with no problem. Cameras are allowed with no problem at all as well. Though no screening in past years, there is a pretty significant PAPD presence.

Kid's day is held sometime in September and yes its open to kids of all ages, aka adults. Not sure when this September it will be held, we generally get details in Aug. You can bring you're camera entrance point is a gate near the Marine Air Terminal. NYCA had a huge turn out last year, 30 something people if I'm correct. They really did a nice job last year with it.

Great! I plan to attend and meet some of you guys in September. As I don't have a car, it's hard for me to get many of the places where you guys meet-up.

Mark your calendars: Kid's Day is Saturday, September 29, 2007. Not sure about a start time, but 9 or 10am should be a good aiming point.

It's an open-house type event. The airlines typically bring over a few airliners that you can walk through, sit in the cockpit, and such. The PAPD usually brings out all their cool hardware like the big crash trucks, the armored assault vehicle (remind me to tell you about the time that rolled up on us while spotting!) probably a K-9 unit. In the past, some of the local warbirds (Skytypers, the Baranakus' P-51 & P-47 and the like) were on display as well. I think they served hot dogs the last couple of times as well. All in all, a fun day, you get to see stuff up close, and you don't even have to bring a kid to attend.

I am DEFINITELY going to Kid's day again this year. Last year's meet up was a blast and it was awesome to meet so many fellow members. It's a great event, and I'd tell everyone who can make it to come out and have a ball! This year I have a new camera too! :D

I envy you as I can care less about an Airbus anymore. I am around them all day.

I think the event starts at noon, but it's good to show up early, as certain aircraft visitors such as military planes would be arriving earlier that morning. Good morning to start off spotting, head to Kids Day, then we can all do dinner afterwards.

I guess this is evidence of which one you like better!
Not really so, It is just that the second one will hang around aircraft longer without issue. That is the only reason for the preference on the younger one for this type of event.... now if I needed someone to kick some ass.... Nick would be worth about $45-50 h/r, unless you give him a bat.... then it is $75 h/r.
The type of event changes preference and cost.

I hope that will not coincide with the 787's first flight...
