Is there a reason why the A380 only uses inboard thrust reversers?

Yes I'm sure there is (http://www.airliners.net/discussions/general_aviation/read.main/2696014).

Don't leave the kid hanging in suspense. Matt, there are reversers ONLY on the inboard engines. I guess the designers felt that this was sufficient and perhaps quieter or otherwise more economical.

Also, the position of the outboard engines would place them over grass on most runways, as opposed to the pavement. This would create a FOD hazard were reverse to be used, thus only the inboards have it.
Increased noise regulations at a lot of airports in Europe mean that reverse is being used less and less often anyway.

Exactally, the risk of FOD is nuts when the engines hang off of the runway hah.
